Membership in the Queens College Choral Society provides a welcoming atmosphere to sing with community members, faculty and students of Queens College, preparing choral-orchestral masterworks for public performance.  The Choral Society is open to anyone with recent choral singing experience.  New singers are accepted in late August/early September, and in January/early February of each year.

Dues for Choral Society members are $85 per semester, which help cover the many costs associated with creating live concerts.  Current Queens College students who sing with the ensemble for credit are are not required to pay dues, and recent alumni (within four semesters of graduation) are offered membership at half-price.

Queens College Choral Society High School Outreach Program
The QCCS High School Outreach Program offers young singers considering a career in music the opportunity to expand their performing experience.  Weekly rehearsals with college students and experienced community members provide a chance to sharpen sight-singing and foreign language skills, practice healthy vocal techniques, and improve all aspects of musicianship through the preparation and performance of choral-orchestral masterworks.  All offerings include free membership or a reduction in dues, as well as other advantages, such as free tickets to concerts and In-Service credit for teachers who qualify:
  • Partnership Program: High school choral directors bring a quartet of student singers to sing with QCCS.
  • Family Membership: Adults or family members who love to sing may join QCCS together with a high school student.
  • Five for Five Audience Participation: Groups of five audience members, comprised of one adult chaperone and four high school students, receive $5 tickets to any QCCS concert.  Larger group discounts are also available.
